New York Jets backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor is reportedly at the center of a legal dispute involving his model-actress ex-girlfriend, Draya Michele, after allegedly calling the police to have her and her children evicted from the mansion they once shared.
According to court documents, Taylor, 35, and Michele, 39, have been embroiled in a months-long legal battle over the Southern California estate, with allegations and counterclaims that have escalated tensions between the former couple.
The situation began in June when Michele filed a lawsuit against Taylor, claiming he reneged on a verbal agreement to sell the house to her for $3.2 million. In her latest filing, Michele claims that Taylor took drastic measures by sending law enforcement officers to the estate to evict her and her three children while she was out of town.
The court documents detailed an incident on November 20, 2024, in which Michele’s children’s nanny received an unexpected and alarming visit from the local sheriff’s department. According to the filing, Michele, who was away on a business trip at the time, was notified of the situation by the nanny. “On 11/20/2024, Ms. Howard received an alarming phone call from her children’s nanny while she was away on a business trip that the sheriffs were at the Subject Property to lock the occupants out of the Subject Property,” read the November 26 filing.
Michele, who has a 21-year-old son named Kniko, an eight-year-old son named Jrue with former NFL cornerback Orlando Scandrick, and a baby daughter with Houston Rockets star Jalen Green, expressed her disbelief over the incident, stating that she had never received prior notification of the eviction proceedings.

It was subsequently revealed to Michele’s attorney that Taylor had filed an eviction lawsuit through a company that technically owns the property in question.
A default judgment had been entered in favor of Taylor, allowing the NFL quarterback to proceed with serving the eviction notice by mail, according to Michele’s recent filing. Michele contends, however, that neither she nor her attorney were served any paperwork related to the eviction, leaving her blindsided by the sudden escalation.
The legal conflict over the Southern California property has been ongoing for months, with no resolution in sight. DailyMail.com reached out to attorneys representing both Taylor and Michele for further comment and clarification, but neither party has provided an official statement regarding the matter.
The roots of the conflict can be traced back to an alleged verbal agreement between Taylor and Michele. Earlier this year, Michele filed a lawsuit seeking to compel Taylor to sell her the home, which she claims was purchased specifically for her and her children.
In her suit, Michele alleged that she and Taylor had made a verbal pact, agreeing that any financial contributions she made towards the house would be applied towards the final purchase price of $3.2 million.
However, Michele claims that despite her substantial contributions, Taylor ultimately refused to follow through with the sale. According to her filing, she had spent approximately $300,000 on the property, believing it was intended to be her long-term home, only to have Taylor deny her the opportunity to buy it.
Meanwhile, Taylor, who signed a two-year deal with the New York Jets in March of this year, has largely kept a low profile regarding the legal situation.
On the field, Taylor has made one appearance so far this season, stepping in late during Week 1 and completing a touchdown pass in garbage time against the San Francisco 49ers.
Draya Michele, who has gained fame through her television appearances and entrepreneurial ventures, has remained busy in both her professional and personal life. The former girlfriend of Chris Brown, Michele appeared on VH1’s “Basketball Wives” and TV One’s “Will to Love.” She also had a role in the 2016 romantic comedy “The Perfect Match,” which starred Donald Faison.
Beyond her acting and television roles, Michele has made a name for herself as a successful entrepreneur, launching multiple fashion lines and establishing a strong social media presence. Her relationship with NBA star Jalen Green, who is 22 years old, began in August 2023, and the couple has been seen publicly together on several occasions.
As the legal dispute with Tyrod Taylor continues, Michele is focused on protecting her family and her rights to the property she believes should belong to her.
The case is still ongoing, and it remains to be seen how the courts will ultimately rule on the contentious matter. Regardless of the outcome, the situation underscores the challenges that can arise when personal relationships intersect with financial and legal commitments—especially in the public eye.
For Taylor, the legal battle adds an additional layer of complexity to an already challenging season as he navigates life as a backup quarterback in the NFL.
And for Michele, the fight for stability for her children is a priority, as she continues to juggle her career, her businesses, and her personal life amidst the ongoing controversy.
