An NFL “power couple” made a happy announcement on Saturday.
Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz and his wife, former U.S. National Women’s Soccer star Julie Ertz, are expecting their second child according to a post that Zach Ertz made on Saturday.
“Happy Birthday Mama! We love you!
Adding to the family Summer 2024!”
The pair have been married since 2017.
In April 2022, the couple announced the birth of their son Madden Matthew Ertz.
Julie retired from competitive soccer in 2021 but made a comeback after a year and a half break when she signed with Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League.
She announced her retirement once again in August of 2023 following her final World Cup appearance with the USWNT.
As for Zach, he’s approaching the tail end of his career, but signed a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders this offseason.
The 33-year-old tight end is a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Commanders will be Ertz’ third team as he previously played for the Eagles from 2013 to 2021 and the Arizona Cardinals from 2021 to 2023.
