The Dallas Cowboys are grappling with the aftermath of a disappointing 48-32 Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Dak Prescott, despite a season of strong performances, faced criticism for his play in the playoff game, with two interceptions, including a pick-6.
As the Cowboys reflected on the loss, an anonymous player expressed frustration with a perceived stubbornness in sticking to schemes on both sides of the ball.
There were concerns about motion offenses causing problems for defenses and a belief that Prescott panics when his first read is not available, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater.

“Another player was frustrated with a stubbornness to stick to schemes on both sides of the ball. Motion offenses killing defenses and concern that Dak panics when 1st read not there,” Slater tweeted.
Despite Prescott’s successful regular season, this marks the third consecutive year of substandard performances in season-ending playoff losses for the veteran quarterback. Prescott acknowledged his poor play, stating, “I sucked tonight.”
“I sucked tonight,” Prescott said of his play on Sunday. “That was it. Got it going a little bit later, but none of that mattered at that point. Fought. That’s all I really know how to do, but, yeah, I mean it’s about winning. It’s about winning in the playoffs and then getting to the last game and winning that as well. And yeah, tough.”
With Prescott entering the final year of his contract in 2024, the disappointing playoff exit raises questions about the team’s future plans.
