On Monday, the Washington Commanders acknowledged they were informed of a lawsuit filed against their kicker, Brandon McManus. Similarly, the Jacksonville Jaguars confirmed they are facing a lawsuit as well.
A spokesperson for the Commanders stated that the team is actively investigating the matter and has consulted with McManus’ representative and the NFL, emphasizing their serious approach to such allegations.
According to ESPN, two women have accused McManus of sexual assault during a charter flight to London last year while he was with the Jaguars. The women, known in court documents as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II, claim McManus engaged in inappropriate physical contact with them. They also allege the Jaguars failed to adequately supervise McManus and ensure a safe environment for their staff. They are seeking damages exceeding $1 million and have requested a jury trial.

The Jaguars have responded by highlighting their commitment to maintaining a team culture characterized by high ethical standards and respect, indicating their ongoing investigation into the claims.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson responded:
McManus’ attorney has vehemently denied the accusations, labeling them as “absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false.” His legal team, led by Brett R. Gallaway of McLaughlin & Stern, described the lawsuit as an attempt at extortion and pledged to vigorously defend McManus’ reputation and rights.
“We intend to aggressively defend Brandon’s rights and integrity and clear his name by showing what these claims truly are – an extortion attempt.”
McManus, a Philadelphia native who signed with the Commanders in March after a decade in the NFL, including nine seasons with the Denver Broncos and college football at Temple, turns 33 in July.
