Tough day for Doug Pederson.
In early July, Josh Pederson became a member of the Jaguars after being released from his contract with the Houston Gamblers in the USFL.

Interestingly, he happens to be the son of the Jaguars’ head coach, Doug Pederson.
While it is never easy to release any player who has dedicated their time and effort to the team during preseason, it is especially challenging when that player is the coach’s son.
Unfortunately, today the Jaguars had no choice but to include Josh Pederson in the list of players they are waiving.
#Jaguars waived Tucker Addington, Kevin Austin Jr, Lataviosu Brini, D.J. Coleman, Snoop Conner, Coy Cronk, De'Shaan Dixon, Erick Hallett II, Jacob Harris, Kaleb Hayes, Dequan Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Oliver Martin, James McCourt, Ayo Oyelola, Derek Parish, Josh Pederson, Gerrit…

Since joining the league in 2021, Pederson has struggled to establish himself with any team. Initially signed by the 49ers as an undrafted player, he was released in early August. He briefly joined the Saints but was cut before the end of the preseason. Last offseason, he had a stint with the Kansas City Chiefs before being let go.
Pederson then joined the USFL, where he had modest success with the Gamblers.
Recently, he spent a few months with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Today may be a challenging day for the Pederson family as Josh contemplates his next move while his father, Doug Pederson, concentrates on defending the AFC South crown.
