Free agent running back Dalvin Cook has resolved a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend who accused him of battery and false imprisonment in his Minnesota home in November 2020, according to Rochelle Olson of the Star Tribune.
The case was set to go before Dakota County District Court Judge Jamie Cork on Tuesday, but the hearing was canceled as the lawsuit was settled and subsequently closed. Details of the settlement were not disclosed.
Gracelyn Trimble, Cook’s former girlfriend, originally sought unspecified damages exceeding $50,000. According to a court document reviewed by Olson last summer, Cook’s legal team had proposed settlements of $800,000 and then $1 million to Trimble, contingent upon her sending a letter to the NFL clearing Cook of any misconduct.

Trimble initiated her personal injury lawsuit against Cook in November 2021. The following month, Cook responded with a defamation and fraud lawsuit against Trimble and her attorneys. This counterclaim is still active, with motions due by October, though a trial date has yet to be scheduled.
Cook spent six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before being released last summer. He spent the previous season playing for the Jets and the Ravens, participating in just 202 snaps on offense. Cook has expressed his desire to continue playing in the NFL.
