The New York Jets, who ended a disappointing 2023 NFL season with a 7-10 record following Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury in Week 1, are looking ahead with optimism as their All-Pro quarterback gears up for a comeback.
The team has focused on shoring up their offensive line during the offseason and holds the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to further strengthen their roster.
In another move to revamp their image, the Jets had announced plans in February to unveil new uniforms for the 2024 season. When revealed on Monday, the uniforms turned out to be subtly different, leading to a somewhat anticlimactic reaction given the build-up. The changes were minimal, prompting the larger NFL community to share their bewilderment and a few jokes on X, formerly known as Twitter.

NFL fans are quick to tease the Jets, and this uniform update provided ample fodder. If a team’s jersey redesign goes too far, it risks alienating fans, yet if it changes too little, it becomes the butt of jokes for not making any noticeable adjustments. Finding the right balance in redesigning team jerseys is notoriously difficult.
The Jets are set to debut these slightly updated uniforms on the field in September, which will ultimately determine how fans really feel about the new look.
