Sometimes, it’s all about being in the right place at the right time.
On Friday, a Cleveland Browns fan managed to scoop NFL insiders by sharing valuable information. The fan tweeted a photo of Joe Flacco on a flight to Cleveland Thursday night, indicating that he was en route for a workout with the Browns.
This fan’s revelation was subsequently confirmed by NFL insiders on Friday morning, including Ian Rapoport from NFL Network.
Joe Flacco, who last played for the New York Jets in 2022, participated in five games, completing 57.6% of his passes for 1,051 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. After spending three seasons with the Jets, one with the Denver Broncos, and 11 with the Baltimore Ravens—where he played a crucial role in winning Super Bowl XLVII in February 2013 and earned MVP honors—he finds himself potentially adding depth to the Browns.
While Flacco may not secure a starting position if he signs with the Browns, he could provide valuable backup support. The Browns are gearing up to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson stepping in at quarterback in lieu of the injured Deshaun Watson, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury.
While Joe Flacco may not be a game-changing quarterback, he is expected to be a serviceable addition to the Browns’ roster.
