Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour has become such a global phenomenon that the NFL considered her tour dates when creating the 2024 schedule.
The league released the upcoming season’s schedule on Thursday, prompting speculation about whether NFL executives deliberately ensured Swift would be available to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, when the Chiefs play.
Director of Broadcasting Charlotte Carey dismissed these theories during an appearance on the “Up And Adams” podcast but acknowledged that Swift’s tour influenced the league’s scheduling process.
“There are music tours and events every year, and it always gets harder and harder with more things happening,” she told host Kay Adams. “Taylor is coming back to the US during our football season and has a few blocks of time scheduled here too.”
“At the end of the day, we still need to be able to play football in all the weeks we need to be home,” Carey added. “But Taylor’s definitely a factor this year as well.”
The first leg of Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour took place last summer during the NFL off-season, but she will return to the US in the middle of the 2024 football season.

The good news for the singer is that she is set to miss only one Chiefs game due to her touring commitments: the December 8 showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium, as she is scheduled to perform in Vancouver that day.
Swift will also face tight schedules for a couple of other games.
The Chiefs play the Bills on November 17 in Buffalo, just one day after she performs at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Similarly, she has a show the day before the Chiefs play the Panthers in Carolina, at the same venue in Canada the following week.
