Tyler Owens of Texas Tech is grabbing attention at the NFL Combine, but not for the reasons you might expect.
In a surprising revelation to reporters, Owens expressed disbelief in the concept of space.
“I don’t believe in space,” Owens declared, citing his strong religious beliefs. “I’m really religious, so I don’t think there are other planets and stuff like that.”
He went on to explain the origins of his unconventional stance.
“I came across some flat-earth theories, and I found them intriguing,” Owens shared. “They made some compelling arguments. It’s hard to say. It could be true, or it might not be. You know what I’m saying?”

Owens’ remarks have sparked significant reaction on social media, with many criticizing his viewpoint.
“Billy, meet Tyler Owens. One of the fastest players in the draft, but a flat-earther,” quipped one fan.
“Denying basic science? Not on my draft board,” remarked another.
A different social media user expressed disbelief, stating, “Rejecting proven science? Seriously?”
Others echoed similar sentiments, with one commenter remarking, “It’s astounding to think someone could go through college and still hold such beliefs.”
Despite the controversy surrounding his views, Owens boasts an impressive collegiate career, showcasing his athleticism and skills on the field. With scouts anticipating his exceptional speed at the NFL Combine, perhaps Owens’ performance in the 40-yard dash will overshadow his unconventional beliefs about space.
