The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to have some competition if they want to bring free agent quarterback Baker Mayfield back.
It’s still anticipated that the Bucs will bring Mayfield, but the Atlanta Falcons have emerged as a team that may have their eye on Mayfield.

Of course, the Falcons have been linked with quite a few quarterbacks including Kirk Cousins and Justin Fields.
However, NFL insider Tom Pelissero considers the Falcons as a team that may emerge as “dark horse” to sign Mayfield.
‘”If there’s one dark horse that might emerge for Baker Mayfield, I would think Atlanta is it but Atlanta’s got a lot of different options, including holding the No. 8 overall pick,” Pelissero said.
One way or another, it seems like the Falcons are going to find somebody as an upgrade over Desmond Ridder who started the majority of games at quarterback for the Falcons last season.
As for Mayfield, the former first overall draft pick is going to command a nice salary due to his resurgence with the Buccaneers last season in which he led the team to the playoffs.
