Many things have changed about Major League Baseball in recent years, but notorious MLB umpire Angel Hernandez being the league’s most scrutinized umpire has not.
Hernandez has been the subject of great disdain among MLB players, managers, coaches, announcers, fans, and just about anybody else you can think of who has any association with the game whatsoever.
Serving as the home plate umpire, Hernandez was involved in a confusing situation during Sunday afternoon’s game between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.

Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres appeared to step out of the box before a 3-2 pitch as Blue Jays pitcher Bowden Francis stepped off the mound and then quickly stepped back on the mound to deliver the pitch which is not allowed.
Torres didn’t swing at the pitch, which appeared to be a bit high regardless, and called it strike three.
As Yankees manager Aaron Boone came out to get an explanation, the Yankees fans let Hernandez have it with a profane “F*** you, Angel” chant.
The 62-year-old has been an MLB umpire since 1991 which is just about 33 years too long.
Despite the blown call, the Yankees currently lead the Blue Jays 6-3 in the seventh inning.
