Apparently, voluntary OTAs aren’t so voluntary according to New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
Saleh was visibly frustrated on Tuesday addressing new acquisition Haason Reddick’s absence.

The Jets traded for the star edge rusher in March, bringing him over from the Eagles.
The reason for Reddick’s absence from the voluntary OTAs remains unclear, but indications suggest he is dissatisfied with his contract.
Reddick sought a contract extension from the Eagles this offseason, which led to his trade.
He has one year and $14.25 million left on a three-year deal signed in 2022.
There was speculation that the Jets might offer him a new deal after the trade, but that has not occurred.
The only mandatory part of the spring program for players is the minicamp, scheduled for June 11-14 for the Jets. Saleh expects Reddick to attend the minicamp.
When asked if Reddick’s absence is contract-related, Saleh responded,
“I don’t know that. That would probably be more of a question for Joe [Douglas].”
Saleh also noted that he has not had any communication with Reddick this spring, which is unusual for a new player.
Despite this, Saleh expressed no concern about Reddick.
“For me, I’m focused on the guys who are here,” Saleh said. “Haason’s a pro. He’s been in this league a while. He’s produced at a very high level for a long time. He’s got his routine. If it makes people feel better, we know where he’s at, we know what he’s doing. We know he’s working his tail off to get where he needs to get to to have a productive ’24 season.”
