Dalvin Cook wants to get paid.
After being released by the Minnesota Vikings, Dalvin Cook is currently a free agent seeking a big deal from a new team.
Despite the Vikings’ interest in retaining him, the issue of money seemed insurmountable; they were reluctant to pay Cook’s $14 million salary for the upcoming season, while Cook was unwilling to restructure his deal.
Cook reportedly desires a salary close to the $10.4 million he was set to receive from Minnesota, and has no intentions of settling for less.
As I've reported, wants something far far closer to 10.4 M he was to get from Minnesota

He stated that he intends to prioritize finding the right fit for himself and his family, emphasizing the importance of a team that values him and will prioritize giving him the ball.
“My shoulder is feeling great. So, it’s like a waiting game right now at this point. Just trying to find that right situation, and I don’t think it’s a rush or anything,” Cook, who had surgery in February to repair a torn labrum, said.
He added: “I want somebody who values Dalvin Cook. I want somebody that wants me to be there and give me the ball. I just want to go into the right situation so I can go help somebody win.”

Cook, who began his career in 2019, enjoyed a strong season in 2022, racking up 1,173 rushing yards and earning his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
However, he has made it clear that he will not consider offers in the $4-5 million range, which other veteran players have received in free agency.
Ultimately, Cook’s future will likely be determined by whether or not he can find a team willing to meet his salary demands or if he chooses to accept a lower offer due to the reduced spending typically seen on running backs.
