Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on Tuesday following a disturbing incident that occurred earlier in the week.
Hall, a former standout at Ohio State, was reportedly involved in a serious domestic dispute on Monday night in Avon, Ohio, with the mother of his child.
According to reports, the altercation began as an argument over financial issues concerning the woman’s daughter from a previous relationship. Tensions escalated quickly, and Hall allegedly threatened the woman with a firearm. The police report, obtained by ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi, reveals that Hall grabbed a handgun during the heated exchange, pressed it against the woman’s temple, and reportedly said, “I will f–ing end it all. I don’t care.”
The woman, who has identified herself as Hall’s fiancée and the mother of his 11-month-old child, told authorities that the situation worsened when Hall demanded she leave the residence. She claims he then physically assaulted her, dragging her by her feet down the driveway. The alleged victim’s mother, who was present at the time, backed up her daughter’s account, stating that she witnessed Hall hit the woman in the head with a baby bottle, choke her, and push her head through a wall.

When police arrived at the scene, Hall had already left the residence. Officers noted signs of a struggle inside the home and discovered two handguns lying on a mattress.
Despite Hall’s absence at the time, police gathered enough evidence to pursue charges, leading to his arrest the following day.
Hall has been charged with domestic violence, to which he has pleaded not guilty. After posting a $10,000 bond, he was released from custody and is expected to appear in court on September 10th to address the charges.
The Cleveland Browns responded to the situation with a brief statement, acknowledging their awareness of the incident and stating that they are in the process of gathering more information.
Hall, who was selected in the second round (No. 54 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Browns, was a key player for Ohio State, amassing 43 total tackles, 6 sacks, and 9.5 tackles for loss in his last two seasons. The incident has cast a shadow over what was expected to be a promising start to his professional career, especially given his local ties to the Cleveland area.
