The police chief of Kansas City provided an update on the investigation into the deadly parade shooting, stating that no charges have been filed yet and that the investigation is still ongoing.
Additionally, it was clarified that one of the individuals initially taken into custody was not a suspect, and they have since been released as authorities determined they had no involvement in the shooting incident, which claimed the life of a mother of two and injured 22 others.
The tragic shooting occurred towards the end of the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, as players and team staff were exiting the stage. The gunfire erupted near a former train station, causing panic among the rally attendees.

Authorities have confirmed that the shooting, resulting in the death of 43-year-old local radio DJ Elizabeth Galvin, was a result of a personal dispute and not related to terrorism. Galvin, known as “Lisa G” in her DJ persona, was described as an outgoing individual and devoted mother.
At least eight victims remain in critical condition in the hospital, with seven others reported to be in serious condition.
Following the incident, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took to X to express his prayers for Kansas City, while Chiefs linebacker Travis Kelce, who is in a relationship with Taylor Swift, expressed his heartbreak over the tragedy and extended his sympathy to those affected by the incident.
