Changes may be on the horizon for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following their hard-fought Game 5 playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets in Denver, the Los Angeles Lakers have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs.
Lakers star LeBron James had a phenomenal performance, but it wasn’t enough as Jamal Murray hit another game-winning shot to send the Lakers home.

James addressed his immediate basketball future following the loss and did not provide too much clarity.
“LeBron James says he doesn’t know his plans for his NBA future. He is currently focused on his family and then after that, USA Basketball training camp.”
“LeBron on if that was his last game as a Laker: “I’m not gonna answer that. I appreciate it.””
What seems to be a bit more clear is the fate of Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.
According to The Athletic’s NBA insider Shams Charania, Ham is “highly unlikely” to be returning as head coach.
“Lakers finish to season has left coach Darvin Ham’s future in serious peril, as some stakeholders indicate he is highly unlikely to return, sources say. What went wrong for L.A. and inside LeBron James’ future at @TheAthletic with @sam_amick, @jovanbuha:”
That doesn’t come as too much of a surprise as Ham has now lost 8 out 9 playoff games to the Denver Nuggets and has been the subject of much criticism.
The Lakers are going to enter the offseason with a ton of uncertainty and will likely be on the search for a new head coach.
