Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race in Atlanta delivered an exhilarating finish that had fans on the edge of their seats.
In a nail-biting conclusion, Daniel Suárez clinched victory by the slimmest of margins, edging out Ryan Blaney by a mere 0.003 seconds and Kyle Busch by just 0.007 seconds in a heart-pounding three-wide finish at the Ambetter Health 400 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Following the race, Busch took to social media to reflect on the incredibly close finish. “Can’t get much closer than that,” he shared on Instagram. “Needed a couple more inches.”
However, Busch’s wife, Samantha Busch, didn’t miss the opportunity to playfully tease him with a humorous comment. “I’ve been telling you that for almost 20 years,” she quipped.

While the exchange was all in good fun, it undoubtedly added a touch of humor to what was a tough day for Kyle Busch. Losing a Cup Series race in such dramatic fashion and then having his wife jest about it publicly could be seen as a double blow.
Nonetheless, Busch remained proud of his team’s performance. “Overall just real proud of everybody at RCR,” he remarked after the race. “Our Cheddar’s Camaro was fast. It’s good to see Daniel get a win.”
Reflecting on the camaraderie between drivers, Busch emphasized the importance of alliances on the track. “Shows that when you do have friends and you can make alliances that they do seem to work,” he noted.
Despite falling short of victory, Busch maintained his trademark optimism, hinting at another shot at glory in the future. “I was hoping to get a win because I know everybody wanted a free No. 8 special on Monday from Cheddar’s,” he joked. “We’ll have to do it again and find another one.”
