Naomi Osaka’s sister, Mari Osaka, has publicly accused their father, Leonard François, of abuse and emotional harassment. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Mari expressed her disgust and disappointment in her father, stating that he has failed in every imaginable way.
She accused François of ongoing emotional abuse and trespassing into her and her mother’s home, threatening to involve the police if it happens again.
In the post, Mari referred to her father as a “coward” who relies on his physical ability to intimidate. She disclosed her decision to make the situation public, emphasizing that she is done with him and intends to call the police the next time she sees him. Mari Osaka also asserted that she would not hesitate to defend herself and her mother, even expressing a willingness to fight back if necessary.

In a chilling part of the post, Mari warned her father that she would not regret if someone harmed him, and she vowed to fight for both herself and her mother. She even mentioned the possibility of lethal force, stating, “I will kill you unless you kill me first by bringing a gun like the coward you are.”
Mari Osaka, a former WTA player who reached a career-high rank of World No. 280, retired in 2021. Since then, she has pursued a career in art and fashion design.
