Recent discussions have taken place between the Indianapolis Colts and at least two teams regarding the potential trade of Jonathan Taylor.
The Miami Dolphins were confirmed as one of the interested teams, and now it has been revealed that the Green Bay Packers also made efforts to acquire Taylor before the Colts’ deadline.
Sources state that the Packers continue to hold interest in the talented running back, and Taylor himself reportedly welcomes a trade to Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers also were in talks with the Colts and had legitimate interest in trading for the star running back, sources told ESPN.
But the Packers emerging as a contender remains relevant because Taylor can still be traded, even though he is on the reserve/physically unable to perform list and therefore must miss at least the first four games of the regular season.
A source told ESPN that there is still trade interest in Taylor and the All-Pro would still welcome a trade. The NFL’s trade deadline is Oct. 31.
The Dolphins have long been linked to Taylor as they have sought to add a top-tier back to their roster throughout the offseason. Multiple offers involving players and draft picks have been made by Miami to the Colts, as indicated by sources.
While it remains unclear what specific offer the Packers presented, their interest is deemed legitimate. Despite already having quality running back depth with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, the Packers’ pursuit of Taylor may imply that they are open to parting ways with one of their current backs.
Taylor is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, earning $4.3 million. The Colts have set a high asking price for him, meaning potential suitors would need to meet that demand and work towards signing Taylor to an extension.
This presents a major obstacle in the path of any potential trade. Additionally, an NFC team that was previously linked to Taylor has reportedly withdrawn from the competition.
Despite battling an ankle issue last season, Taylor managed to rush for 861 yards and maintain a 4.5 yards per carry average in 11 games after leading the NFL with 1,811 rushing yards in the previous year.
However, he will start the season on the physically unable to perform list, sidelining him for at least four games.
