Former Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was arrested on Tuesday night in Minneapolis on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, marking his second such arrest in less than a year.
According to arrest records, Griffen was observed driving at a high speed in a Bentley Bentayga around 11:35 p.m., as reported by the Minnesota State Patrol to TMZ.
Griffen exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested.
Police noted the smell of alcohol inside the vehicle, which had two occupants, and observed that Griffen had “slightly watery eyes,” according to the criminal complaint reviewed by TMZ.
Griffen stated that his last drink was at around 1 p.m., but after consenting to a field sobriety test, he displayed several signs of impairment.

He registered a 0.10 on a breathalyzer test, which is above the legal limit.
He was then booked into Hennepin County Jail early Wednesday morning.
This incident is part of a series of driving-related issues Griffen has faced in the past year.
His troubles began with a DUI arrest in July 2023, leading to a guilty plea for careless driving and a one-year probation sentence.
In October, he crashed his car into a fence and gazebo, resulting in a citation for failure to drive with due care, a petty misdemeanor according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Additionally, in December, Griffen was convicted of a petty misdemeanor for driving 55 mph in a 30-mph zone.
Griffen, who played for the Vikings from 2010-2019 and returned for the 2021 season, also had stints with the Lions and Cowboys in 2020.
His recent arrest adds to a troubled post-NFL chapter, highlighting ongoing legal and personal challenges.
