An MMA referee is under fire.
Following a controversial ending in a fight during UFC Vegas 75 (also known as “UFC on ESPN: Vettori vs. Cannonier”) on Saturday, UFC fans took to Twitter to express their opinions.
The fight was between Dan Argueta and Ronnie Lawrence of the bantamweight division, and was part of the preliminary card.
In just over two minutes, Referee Keith Peterson made an incorrect ruling, stating that Lawrence had tapped out while Argueta was putting him in a chokehold.

However, on reviewing the footage, it was evident that Lawrence had not submitted.
Following this, the decision was changed to a no contest.
Argueta entered the fight with a career record of 9-1-0, while Lawrence held a record of 8-2-0. The main event of the night featured a middleweight bout between Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier.
