Not a good look.
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene experienced a challenging start during the first inning of a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Following a leadoff walk to Andrew McCutchen, Greene faced the next batter, Bryan Reynolds. After Reynolds fouled off Greene’s initial pitch, an unsettling moment occurred: Greene turned away from home plate and vomited on the mound, an incident that was unfortunately captured by the television cameras.
For those with a weak stomach, it’s advisable to avoid watching the footage.

The game did not improve immediately for Greene.
Shortly after the incident, he gave up a two-run homer to Reynolds.
This was followed by Nick Gonzales driving in Rowdy Tellez with an RBI single, giving the Pirates an early 3-0 lead.
At this point, it was unclear whether Greene’s distress was due to illness or perhaps the mid-80s gametime temperatures in Cincinnati, which might have contributed to his discomfort.
However, showing resilience, Greene returned to form quickly.
In the second inning, he impressively managed a 1-2-3 inning, indicating a potential recovery and adjustment after the rough start.
This quick turnaround was a positive sign for both Greene and the Reds.
At the time of this game, both the Reds and the Pirates were tied for third place in the NL Central, each holding a record of 37-41.
They were trailing the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers by 8.5 games and were 2.5 games behind the San Diego Padres for the final Wild Card spot.
The early setback in this particular game was a hurdle for Greene and the Reds as they aimed to improve their standing in the tightly contested division.
