The latest Major League Baseball uniforms have faced relentless criticism from fans on social media and players from specific teams alike.
Fans have taken issue with the small print for names on the back, while players have expressed discontent with the fit of the jerseys. However, one aspect that has caught everyone’s attention is the apparent change in material used for the pants.
Photos from spring training have emerged, revealing pants that are essentially see-through, leaving little to the imagination as players step onto the field.

In response to the uproar, Major League Baseball issued a statement regarding the pants, asserting that the material remains unchanged from the 2023 season.
“The uniform pants feature the same material and thickness as those used in the previous season,” the league informed the Wall Street Journal. “While there were adjustments made to the fabric of the jersey, the pants remain consistent.”
However, the league did acknowledge alterations in the fit and style of the pants, a sentiment echoed by New York Yankees pitcher Tommy Kahnle.
“Even in recent years, I’ve noticed that they haven’t been as stretchy,” Kahnle remarked to the New York Post. “But this year, you can definitely feel that the fabric is tighter than what we’re accustomed to. It seems like the consensus is that they’re not too comfortable.”
As the baseball season approaches, it appears that discussions surrounding the uniforms will persist. While Major League Baseball would prefer the focus to be on the game itself, the uniforms have undeniably sparked controversy and will likely remain a topic of debate.
