A city can experience a significant economic upswing when Taylor Swift pays a visit.
Taylor Swift is on the verge of making her third consecutive appearance at Travis Kelce’s games, and the Mayor of Minneapolis is leading the chorus of encouragement for her to do so this upcoming weekend, according to TMZ.

Mayor Jacob Frey expressed his enthusiasm, saying that he and the entire city are eager to welcome TayTay with open arms this Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Minnesota Vikings in an afternoon showdown. He even had a clever message to entice her.
Frey stated, “We’re well aware of the positive impact Taylor Swift has on the cities she visits, and Minneapolis is no exception.”
The Mayor fondly recalled her tour stop in Minneapolis earlier this year, noting, “Her two sold-out concerts at U.S. Bank Stadium in June resulted in a record-breaking tourism weekend, with fully booked hotels and bustling downtown restaurants. This significantly boosted our local economy beyond our wildest dreams.”
Mayor Frey is clearly optimistic, stating, “If Taylor chooses to return to Minneapolis (sometimes lovingly referred to as Swiftieapolis) this weekend, we’ll be ready for it. Perhaps she’ll need to console Travis Kelce after the Vikings defeat the Chiefs, but there are plenty of fantastic places around town for them to have a date and lift their spirits.”
For the record, the Swiftieapolis nickname is legitimate; the city temporarily changed its name in her honor. With his evident knowledge of Taylor’s discography, it’s safe to say that Mayor Frey is a genuine Swiftie.
In reality, every NFL city would likely share this sentiment. Taylor Swift has demonstrated her immense appeal in terms of media attention and consumer spending across various industries, which often translates to increased foot traffic and more economic prosperity.
The two NFL games she attended in the past turned out to be ratings gold for Fox and NBC, the networks that broadcasted them. Next week, CBS will have its turn, and it appears that Mayor Frey is eager to join in on the excitement as well.
Ultimately, the ball is in Taylor Swift’s court!
