A known advocate for marijuana, Tyson has made significant personal sacrifices in preparation for this fight, including abstaining from sex and marijuana for nearly six weeks. He shared with Forbes his struggles with these restrictions.
“I haven’t smoked or had sex for two-and-a-half weeks,” Tyson revealed to Forbes. “You know, I hate not being able to smoke, I’m doing it like I love it. I hate not being able to sleep with my wife, but I’m doing it like I love it.”
These sacrifices are particularly understandable given the strict stance of the Texas State Athletic Commission on marijuana, a factor likely influencing Tyson’s decision to abstain to avoid jeopardizing his fight and the substantial earnings it promises.
