Connor Stalions is at the center of attention, albeit in the most unfavorable way.
Embattled Michigan staff member Connor Stalions, the focal point of the NCAA’s sign-stealing investigation, is featured in a new video from the 2022 Ohio State-Michigan game, where he is seen relaying the Buckeyes’ offensive signals to his players.

The video, provided by Adam King in Columbus, shows Stalions positioned alongside Michigan’s defensive coordinator, Jesse Minter. In the footage, Stalions appears to be deciphering Ohio State’s sideline signals and subsequently signaling to the defense that a pass play was imminent.
It’s essential to clarify that nothing shown in the video is illegal. Sign stealing is permissible, as long as it does not involve the use of video recording equipment. However, what Stalions is accused of is sending scouts to opponents’ games beforehand to record signals, which is the focal point of the NCAA investigation.
The investigation into the Wolverines’ program, which has been making headlines throughout the 2023 season, is expected to unfold with further revelations and complexities. Michigan has emerged as one of the top three teams in the sport, surpassing the midway point of the season, and is poised to contend for a national title by season’s end.
In this case, it seems that the Wolverines have taken the old saying, “if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying,” to an extreme.
