This week, Michelle Beadle made headlines with her viral reaction to Harrison Butker’s commencement speech at a recent event.
Beadle expressed strong disapproval of Butker’s remarks, stating, “As a woman, I think everything he said was garbage. There were women in that audience that were clearly not OK with it. Some have spoken out, asking, ‘What the hell, dude? We just worked our [expletive] off for years, and you’re gonna tell us that what we really need is to get married and have babies to feel important?’ Like, go [expletive] yourself. And by the way, it’s also my freedom of speech to say that.”
Jason Whitlock aired his displeasure with Beadle’s comments on his podcast, not just disagreeing with her but also criticizing her character. “I used to really like Michelle Beadle. I used to love her energy, her spirit. This angry, bitter, and confused person she’s become isn’t who she was 12 years ago. I blame social media for doing this to her,” Whitlock remarked.
Beadle swiftly responded to Whitlock on social media, defending her past and present self. “Sir, you didn’t know me 12 years ago. But we all knew you. And we’ve all made sure to distance ourselves from you since,” she posted on X. “It’s why when your walls continue to cave in, you remain on an island. A sad, pandering island. So please, save the ‘angry, bitter’ stuff for someone else. Anyone who actually knows me, knows better. Best of luck with the grift…we all have bills I suppose.”
Whitlock responded on Saturday morning, attempting to defuse the situation: “Hi, Michelle. I regret triggering you. The peace, purpose, and joy you are looking for is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Have a great weekend.”
The exchange between Beadle and Whitlock has sparked discussions online, with many hoping this marks the end of their heated public disagreement.
