Micah Parsons expressed his disapproval of the New York Giants’ decision to keep quarterback Daniel Jones on the field during the fourth quarter of a lopsided game.
Speaking on his podcast “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” the Dallas Cowboys edge rusher emphasized the importance of protecting Jones.
Parsons voiced his concerns, stating, “I believe that Daniel Jones should have been taken out of the game in the fourth quarter. It was crucial to safeguard him, and unless an injury occurred, the Giants’ season could have been jeopardized without him.”
The Cowboys easily defeated the Giants 40-0. The game was pretty much over at halftime, as the Cowboys had all the momentum going into the second half up 25-0 following a Tony Pollard Touchdown.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll opted to keep his starting quarterback, Daniel Jones, in the game until the fourth quarter before finally replacing him with backup Tyrod Taylor. This decision came after Jones endured seven sacks, concluding the game with a mere 104 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions.
“I strongly disagree with the choice to keep Daniel Jones on the field during that final drive,” voiced Parsons.
He went on to express, “I found it to be an ill-advised decision, one that lacked transparency. Daniel Jones is the cornerstone of your franchise, and he remained on the field, vulnerable behind the backup offensive line, enduring more sacks and hits. It was a perplexing call.”
The two teams will face each other once again in Week 10.
