Arch Manning is not expected to transfer from Texas, but speculation about potential landing spots is gaining traction.
The former five-star quarterback recruit, who sat out his first season with the Longhorns, is unlikely to transfer in 2024 based on current information.
“Obviously, Arch Manning is the name that looms above it all — everybody’s interested in Arch,” said Chris Hummer of 247Sports. “Based on everything we’ve heard, Arch is perfectly happy at Texas. I think the expectation is he will be back in 2024.”
Despite these expectations, Quinn Ewers has yet to officially announce his decision on the 2024 season, likely waiting until after the Longhorns play in the College Football Playoff.
If Manning were to transfer, schools like Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State are mentioned as potential options. However, a “dark horse” option is also suggested: Miami.
“Potential landing places for Manning could include Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, or even Miami, who need a starting quarterback with Tyler Van Dyke entering the transfer portal and Emory Williams out until Spring with a compound fracture in his right arm,” according to Mike Farrell Sports.
Miami is emerging as a contender for quarterback transfers, with recent speculation also linking the Hurricanes to Ohio State quarterback transfer Kyle McCord.
