That’s gonna leave a mark!
Brandon Nimmo, the New York Mets outfielder, experienced a frightening incident early Monday morning when he fainted and sustained a severe head injury in his hotel bathroom.
Despite the alarming situation, Nimmo has reassured fans and teammates that he is on the mend, though he will need to sit out from playing for a short period.
The incident occurred around 5:15 AM in his hotel room, where Nimmo woke up feeling unwell due to an upset stomach.
As he described to reporters before Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals, the situation escalated when he suddenly lost consciousness and struck his forehead on a hard surface, leading to significant bleeding.

With a small bandage visible on his forehead, Nimmo recounted the moments leading to his urgent rush to the emergency room.
He promptly contacted the team’s trainers who quickly facilitated his transport to receive medical attention. Fortunately, after undergoing various tests, the medical team confirmed that there were no serious underlying conditions causing his fainting spell.
They speculated that a severe cramp might have triggered the brief loss of consciousness.
Nimmo was emphatic in clarifying to the media that alcohol was not a factor in this incident, addressing any potential speculations directly.
While Nimmo will miss at least the game on Monday night, he indicated that his time away from the field would likely be brief. He has been a key performer for the Mets this season, boasting a batting average of .247, with 13 home runs, 50 RBIs, and five stolen bases.
His quick recovery and return to play are eagerly anticipated, given his contributions to the team’s performance this year.
