Angel Reese is steadily recovering from surgery on her fractured left wrist, and her healing journey has been brightened by thoughtful gestures from her closest friends, including her “twin,” rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Reese, who suffered a season-ending injury during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks on September 6, underwent surgery on September 10 to repair her wrist. Since the procedure, she’s been surrounded by love and support, starting with flowers from her Unrivaled teammates. But a particularly special delivery came a few days later, on Friday the 13th, when Megan Thee Stallion sent her a bouquet, along with a heartfelt note.
The note attached to the flowers read, “I’m always rooting for you, twinnn. Wishing you a speedy recovery!” The gesture was another sign of the close bond the two share, having spent a lot of time together over the summer. Their friendship has grown both on and off the stage, with the pair frequently showing their support for one another.
Earlier this year, Reese and Megan were seen hanging out backstage during a stop on Megan’s “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” a moment Reese shared with fans via TikTok in May. The fun didn’t stop there—Reese surprised Megan with an on-stage appearance at Lollapalooza later in the summer, cementing their “twin” status in the eyes of fans.

Though Reese’s rookie WNBA season has come to an unfortunate halt due to her injury, she remains focused and productive. She recently launched her new podcast, Unapologetically Angel, where she aims to bring on guests from various industries. During an interview with Complex, Reese revealed her dream of having some of her high-profile friends from the music world—like Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and Cardi B—appear as guests.
“I really want to have guests across all different industries on the show,” Reese said. “…but you know I’m definitely going to have to get my girls Meg, Latto, and Cardi B on here.”
Reese’s connection to the hip-hop world is nothing new. She previously appeared in the music video for Latto and Cardi B’s hit song “Put It on Da Floor Again.” With her growing influence both in basketball and pop culture, it’s no surprise that Reese has been able to cultivate meaningful relationships with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
Earlier this week, she shared an episode of Unapologetically Angel featuring rapper Polo G, further solidifying her presence in the hip-hop world.
Reese’s crossover appeal, from sports to entertainment, has made her a fan favorite not just in basketball but also within the music and broader cultural scene.
While her focus might temporarily shift from the court to her podcast and recovery, Angel Reese continues to thrive, buoyed by the love and support of her friends like Megan Thee Stallion and her rapidly growing fanbase.
Though her rookie season may have been cut short, her impact off the court remains as strong as ever.
