The Kansas City Chiefs are set to embark on a journey to Frankfurt, Germany for an upcoming NFL game this weekend.
As they gear up to face the Miami Dolphins in an international matchup on Sunday, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling shared insights with People about the dynamics of traveling with his fellow teammates.
“We might play some cards or something, but with this flight being nine hours, I don’t know what we’re going to do to kill some time,” he muses with a light-hearted chuckle as they brace for the extended voyage to Germany.

During lengthier travel days, Chiefs players typically prefer to “just hang out together” or catch a movie, using this time as an opportunity to catch up on some much-needed rest, according to the 29-year-old Valdes-Scantling. He adds, “if the seats happen to be comfortable enough.”
Valdes-Scantling also notes that among his teammates, tight end Travis Kelce is the most likely candidate to doze off first during the journey.
“It’s definitely Travis. He can sleep anywhere,” says Valdes-Scantling, who has become close friends with Kelce, 34, since they began playing together in 2022.
In order to ensure the team’s comfort during their overseas journey and to be ready for any situation, Charmin has generously supplied the Kansas City Chiefs with ample quantities of their latest product, Ultra Soft Smooth Tear toilet paper. This particular product marks Charmin’s first offering without perforated squares in over a century.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling emphasizes the importance of having essential items like toilet paper, stating, “The absence of such necessities could be quite problematic.” Partnering with Charmin, they’ve made sure the team is well-prepared for their trip to Germany, ensuring maximum comfort. Valdes-Scantling adds, “There’s nothing worse than arriving at a hotel and finding no toilet paper.”
The game between the Chiefs and Dolphins in Frankfurt is scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, and everyone is hoping that Travis will be able to catch some much-needed sleep wherever possible.
