Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has never shied away from sharing his political views, and in the lead-up to the upcoming election, he’s been more outspoken than ever. Over the past several months, Cuban has consistently voiced his concerns about the current political landscape, taking particular aim at former President Donald Trump.
Cuban first made headlines a few months ago when he criticized both Trump and current President Joe Biden following a debate. He didn’t hold back in expressing his disappointment in their performances. “His performance was awful. But so was Trump’s,” Cuban said about the debate. “Biden was feeble. Trump couldn’t directly answer a single question and lied with every response.”
Cuban’s criticism wasn’t just about their debate skills; he also weighed in on the broader issue of presidential qualities. “The question is what features voters believe make a better POTUS: Feeble, Capable, and Ethical vs. Vigorous, Unethical, and Incapable of telling the truth. I’ll vote ethical every time.” This statement was a clear signal of Cuban’s belief that integrity and honesty should be paramount in selecting the next president.
In recent months, Cuban has continued his political commentary, this time accusing mainstream media of shielding Donald Trump from the consequences of his own words. In a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter), Cuban suggested that the media is failing to properly report on Trump’s statements and behavior.

“No question, the MSM [mainstream media] protects the Republican candidate by not reporting on what he literally says,” Cuban wrote. “If anyone else used the exact same language, they would dismiss them as incoherent, senile, incompetent, or worse.” According to Cuban, the media’s selective coverage of Trump creates an unfair advantage by not holding him accountable for his rhetoric.
Cuban has also made his voting intentions clear. He will not be casting a ballot for Donald Trump in the upcoming election, citing the former president’s stance on climate change as a key reason. “I won’t vote for anyone that doesn’t believe climate change is real,” Cuban said, underscoring the importance he places on environmental issues in his decision-making process.
While Cuban has been vocal about his opposition to Trump, he has also shown strong support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Following her speech at the Democratic National Convention, Cuban praised Harris for her leadership and vision. “Kamala Harris is not falling in line with Democratic Party policies,” he wrote. “Kamala Harris is defining her own policies, and the Democratic Party is falling in line with her. She literally is redefining the party.”
As the political landscape continues to heat up ahead of the election, Cuban remains a prominent voice in the conversation, consistently challenging Trump’s honesty and media coverage while expressing his admiration for Harris.
With a presidential debate scheduled between Trump and Harris on September 10, all eyes will be on how both candidates present themselves, and it’s clear that Cuban will be watching closely, ready to weigh in.
