Margate City Mayor Michael Collins has extended an apology to Kylie and Jason Kelce following a disruptive incident during their night out at Steve & Cookie’s By The Bay.
The couple’s evening was interrupted by an overzealous fan demanding a photo, leading to an uncomfortable situation.
Appearing on the Mike and Diane Morning Show on 95.1 WAYV this Wednesday, Mayor Collins expressed his regret over the incident and proposed a gesture of goodwill. “On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason and Kylie Kelce for their recent unpleasant experience here,” Collins stated. “Understanding the value of a peaceful date night, especially as a parent myself, I would like to offer them a chance to redo their date night, with dinner on me.”

This apology comes in stark contrast to the aggressive behavior of the fan captured in a viral video, where the individual confrontationally told Kylie, “I don’t give a f**k who you are, you’ll never be allowed in this town again.” Kylie responded assertively to the fan, noting, “I can smell the alcohol on your breath, you’re embarrassing yourself,” as she continued to confront the situation.
Throughout the altercation, Jason appeared in the background, allowing Kylie to handle the confrontation with the fan, who was described by witnesses as intoxicated.
The video does not detail how the confrontation de-escalated, but reports indicate that the Kelces were able to continue their evening and enjoy their meal at the restaurant.
Reflecting on the broader experience at the shore, Jason mentioned on the New Heights podcast, “It was great to be out there. It was the first really big weekend of the year, and it felt like we never left.”
The incident has sparked admiration for Kylie’s resolve among fans, with many commending her for standing firm in a challenging situation.
This characteristic toughness was highlighted in a resurfaced clip from the New Heights podcast where Kylie remarked, “I am almost six feet tall and I’m not thin. I will hold my ground,” indicating her readiness to protect her space and her family.
