ESPN’s “ManningCast” is set to undergo a change this year as Eli and Peyton Manning introduce a third host to their show.
Peyton Manning took to Instagram to break the news, sharing a photo of himself holding up a binder bearing the message, “Third Host Auditions.”
In the caption of his Instagram post, Manning confirmed this alteration to the show, stating, “Trying something new for ManningCast this year.”
The prospect of a new host has elicited various opinions from fans. Some have suggested the addition of another quarterback, such as Philip Rivers, while others advocate for keeping the show as it is.
A fan expressed, “I don’t know why people want to fix things that aren’t broken.”
Another fan offered an alternative, saying, “Cooper Manning is the only answer.”
Speculation arose about potential hosts, with one fan humorously suggesting, “This is definitely Tom Brady, right? So he can start getting his footing for announcing? Philip Rivers would be funny though.”
Someone jokingly proposed, “They can Joe Flacco, a QB who is better than both of them, to add some insight, just a thought.”
In May of 2022, “ManningCast” earned a Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Sports Series, which came as no surprise given the strong affinity NFL fans have for the Manning brothers’ commentary.
Fans are hopeful that the addition of a third host to “ManningCast” won’t detract from the show’s signature sense of humor.
