A 34-year-old man from the United States was detained in Germany earlier this week for allegedly making threats against Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The arrest occurred ahead of Swift’s first concert in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, as reported by the Associated Press.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody during entry checks at the concert venue. Authorities acted on the threats, which were allegedly made on social media, due to an inability to completely rule out a potential risk. The suspect reportedly had a ticket for the concert and will be held until Saturday, the day after Swift’s final show in the city.
This is not the first time Swift has dealt with stalkers. Earlier this year, David Crowe was arrested twice in three days for stalking her New York City apartment. Crowe, who has a history of similar incidents, was eventually deemed mentally unfit and transferred from Rikers Island to a mental health facility.
Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour will continue in Germany with shows in Hamburg and Munich before moving to Warsaw for three performances in early August. The tour has drawn significant attention, with numerous sold-out shows and high-profile attendees.

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, attended Swift’s concert in Gelsenkirchen. He was seen holding hands with Swift after the performance and watching from a VIP section, engaging with fans and enjoying the show. This marks the 13th concert Kelce has attended during the Chiefs’ offseason.
Kelce’s appearance at Swift’s concert follows a celebratory year in which he secured his second consecutive Super Bowl title. In April, Kelce signed a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. Last season, he recorded 984 yards and five touchdowns on 93 receptions during the regular season.
As Kelce prepares for his 12th NFL season, he has managed to balance his rigorous training schedule with supporting Swift’s tour. The upcoming training camp will kick off next week, marking the beginning of another anticipated season for the Chiefs.
The incident in Germany highlights the ongoing challenges celebrities face regarding security and personal safety. Swift and Kelce’s high-profile relationship has undoubtedly increased public scrutiny, but their shared moments, such as attending concerts together, showcase their resilience and commitment to one another amidst the challenges.
