The New York Giants and Detroit Lions have experienced several intense altercations during their joint training camp practices this week, with rookie Malik Nabers at the center of one of the most heated confrontations.
During Tuesday’s practice, Nabers was returning to the huddle when he appeared to take a cheap shot at Lions cornerback Kerby Joseph.
As they crossed paths, the former LSU star shoved Joseph in the face, provoking an immediate reaction. Joseph, clearly not appreciating the shove, went ballistic and started swinging at Nabers.

Though Joseph’s reaction was extreme, Nabers seemed to be the initial aggressor.
It’s unclear if Joseph said something to provoke the rookie, but Nabers’ stiff-arm clearly ignited the altercation. Another angle of the incident sheds more light on the aggressive exchange.
Nabers, the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s draft, has shown remarkable potential in his first NFL offseason. One teammate even recently compared him to a prominent NFL receiver.
Perhaps Joseph felt Nabers was becoming too cocky and decided to bring him down a notch.
