No pain, no gain?
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic underwent a pain-relief injection for a thoracic contusion before Game 2 of the NBA Finals, and he’s expected to have another before Game 3, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Malika Andrews.
Doncic was marked as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics due to the chest injury, as well as a right knee sprain and left ankle soreness, but is now listed as probable for Game 3.
“I feel good. I don’t want to go into details, but I feel good,” Doncic stated to reporters, including MacMahon, on Tuesday.

Despite battling these injuries, Doncic has managed to average 31 points, 10.5 rebounds, and six assists per game, shooting 51.1% from the field.
However, his single assist in Game 1 was his lowest in three years.
The Mavericks, struggling to find their rhythm, are averaging only 93.5 points per game in the series, down from 111.4 points during the Western Conference finals.
Dallas aims to narrow the series deficit to 2-1 in their upcoming home game on Wednesday night.
