Daia McGhee has firmly dismissed allegations that her appearance on Love Island USA was a ploy to get close to NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. Instead, she insists she doesn’t have any interest in him.
The 27-year-old social media influencer developed a connection with Beckham Jr.’s 22-year-old brother, Kordell Beckham, after meeting him in Casa Amor. Their relationship quickly became known for its physical nature during the sixth season of the popular reality show.
Due to their budding romance, McGhee was brought back to the main villa with Kordell, who subsequently ended his prior relationship. However, their relationship faced several challenges, and Kordell eventually rekindled his connection with Serena Page, his partner from Day 1, leading to McGhee’s departure from the show on Day 27.
Addressing the rumors on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, McGhee said, “If people literally looked at logic just for, like, two seconds here. Do you really think I was going to make out and allegedly dry-hump Kordell to then turn around and be like at the Thanksgiving dinner when I’m sitting around with his family like, ‘Hey, OBJ, you wanna go in the room?’ Does that really make sense?”
Despite Love Island USA’s reputation for dramatic twists, it emerged that McGhee had previously been to dinner with Odell Beckham Jr. and had left comments on his Instagram page. She was eager to clarify these interactions.
“I’m sure the only [photo] that I ever would have liked or commented with your brother in it was, like, my ex went to dinner with him,” Daia recalled. “And I don’t think your brother posted it, I think my ex posted it and maybe I commented. They had three photos of him with his brother. They’re not friends; they just happened to be at dinner together.”
Love Island USA, now in its sixth season, continues to captivate audiences with its dramatic twists and unexpected turns. The show, originally pioneered in the United Kingdom in 2005 and revived in 2015, has successfully crossed the Atlantic, becoming a flagship production for Peacock.
The next episode of Love Island USA airs on Thursday, July 18, as the show heads into its final 10 days, building up to an exciting crescendo. Fans eagerly await each new episode to see how the relationships and dynamics evolve in the villa.
