Shohei Ohtani, the star player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, stirred up a bit of intrigue during the team’s recent series in San Diego against the Padres.
Speaking before Sunday’s game, Ohtani commented on the vibrant atmosphere at Petco Park, noting the overwhelming presence of Dodgers fans. “Overall, just very passionate fans here in San Diego,” Ohtani observed, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
“But I also do see that there are a lot of Dodgers fans. So it’s hard to determine who’s home and who’s away.”

Despite not participating in Sunday’s game due to back tightness, Ohtani’s remarks came after Dodgers supporters had notably swarmed downtown San Diego, making their presence felt throughout the weekend.
Although the Padres ultimately clinched the series with a 4-0 victory on Sunday, taking the lead in the season rivalry 5-3, Ohtani’s engagement in the escalating Dodgers-Padres rivalry added an extra layer of excitement to the series.
