The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly considering adding a future Hall-of-Fame point guard to their lineup.
According to NBA correspondent Marc Stein, the Clippers have shown interest in acquiring multi-time All-Stars Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry.
“In the latest updates, the Clippers have emerged as potential suitors for Chris Paul, should he enter free agency,” Stein reported in his Substack newsletter. “Moreover, I’ve learned that both Paul, who could leave the Golden State Warriors, and Kyle Lowry, finishing last season in Philadelphia, are on the Clippers’ radar as veteran guards of interest.”
Paul is no stranger to the Clippers, having played with the team from 2011 to 2017, making five All-Star appearances and receiving three 1st-team All-NBA honors during his tenure.

Stein also noted a potential hurdle in acquiring Paul, depending on the Golden State Warriors’ decision to either retain him or let him enter free agency, given his $30 million partially guaranteed salary for the 2024-25 season. Paul’s performance has declined, and the Warriors face a challenging salary cap situation.
The Clippers’ offseason decisions also hinge on Russell Westbrook, who has a $4 million player option due by the end of next month.
With Kawhi Leonard already secured under a long-term extension, the Clippers continue to negotiate potential deals to re-sign stars Paul George and James Harden, setting the stage for a critical offseason for the franchise.
