The world of boxing can certainly be described as a circus.
If you believed the buildup to the Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis bout was bizarre, prepare for something even more peculiar.
During the pre-fight press conference for Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card on Thursday, Logan Paul caught Dillon Danis off guard by inviting Chris Hansen, the host of the well-known TV show “To Catch a Predator,” to address Danis regarding his online attacks on Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal.
“On your personal phone, you have an entire gallery of a woman you’ve never met before. That’s weird. That’s not normal behavior,” Paul said. “You’re a stalker, you’re a cyberbully. In fact, Dillon, you’re a predator. Saturday on October 14, I’m going to catch you. In fact, I brought an expert because we’re going to catch you. I got my boy Chris Hansen. This Saturday, October 14, me and Chris Hansen are going to catch a predator.”
Paul and Danis are set to square off on Saturday at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, as the co-main event of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card. The fight is slated for six rounds, each lasting three minutes, and will take place in the 195-pound weight class.
Following the press conference, the two fighters attempted to have a face-off, but their encounter quickly escalated. They engaged in an altercation, exchanging bottle throws, prompting security personnel to step in and separate them.
With all the public feuding and controversy surrounding this match, one might naturally expect it to be a pay-per-view spectacle. However, it’s evident that none of this drama is entirely genuine; rather, it appears to be a meticulously orchestrated marketing stunt from start to finish.
