This marks Dunne’s second appearance at the ESPYs, following her attendance at last year’s awards. During the 2023 broadcast, she hyped up her fellow LSU Tigers, stating, “A lot of people ask me what it’s like being at the ESPYS surrounded by elite athletes, literal champions, and the people at the very top of their sport. Honestly, it’s just like a normal day at LSU. Right guys?” The camera then pulled back to reveal Dunne standing next to the 2023 national champion LSU Tigers women’s basketball team.
Dunne will return to LSU this fall to make the most of her final year of eligibility and compete once again for the national champion LSU gymnastics squad. The New Jersey native made her return announcement on Monday via social media with a video captioned, “Not Dunne Yet.”
“These past four years have changed my life. There is something about putting on a purple and gold leotard,” Dunne began in the video. “… And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say, I’m not done yet. Here’s to year 5, baby.”
Dunne’s return to LSU is highly anticipated, as she has become a significant figure in both collegiate gymnastics and the world of social media influencing. Her presence at the ESPYs not only highlighted her growing celebrity status but also reinforced her commitment to her sport and her team. Fans and followers eagerly await her performances in the upcoming gymnastics season, where she aims to continue her legacy at LSU.
