NFL quarterback Jared Goff and his fiancée Christen Harper are gearing up for a memorable wedding.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 29-year-old athlete shared details about their summer wedding plans in California, highlighting their deep roots in the state.
“We’re getting married in California this summer, and we’re very excited about it,” Goff shared. “I grew up there, and Christen was born and raised just outside of Los Angeles. We’ve been engaged for two years, giving us time to plan everything perfectly.”
Goff admitted that while Harper has been the main planner, he is looking to get more involved as the date approaches. “It’s been a long time coming, and you can see it on the horizon. I know she’s excited, and I’m getting back into helping out with the plans,” he said.
The Detroit Lions player envisions the wedding as a grand celebration with friends and family. “It’ll be a big party and something we’ll remember forever,” he added.
Beyond wedding planning, Goff shared insights into his ideal day off with Harper, starting with a sunny beach walk in L.A., followed by sushi, a likely nap, and concluding with a homemade pasta dinner.
The couple’s engagement took place on a picturesque beach in Los Cabos, Mexico, during a vacation with friends, a moment Harper described as “the best weekend of her life” on Instagram.
Goff and Harper have been publicly linked since early 2019, and she has been a constant support through his NFL career transitions, from the L.A. Rams to his current role with the Lions.
On the community front, Goff is also active off the field. He and Jared Jewelers, where he recently became a partner, will soon present a donation to Detroit’s nonprofit Give Merit’s FATE Program, which aids local youth. This partnership, humorously fitting due to Goff’s first name, extends into fan engagement, with plans for a special surprise for Detroit’s most ardent football fans during an upcoming event.
Reflecting on the partnership, Goff said, “The name connection with Jared Jewelers is funny, but what’s more important is how well they treat their customers and the quality of their service, which makes this partnership a perfect fit for me.”
