LeBron James has responded.
After an impressive start to their season, the Los Angeles Lakers were swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
The Nuggets went on to win the NBA championship and their coach, Michael Malone, appeared to be salty about the media’s focus on the Lakers.
"He came into this world as the son of a coach, but in these playoffs, he became the Lakers daddy!"@VicLombardi while talking about Michael Malone at the Nuggets championship rally ?pic.twitter.com/h28iR5kLHq

Malone even threw shade at LeBron James by jokingly suggesting he was retiring, which James responded to on Instagram.
“In Europe for the last past few weeks minding my business and I hear I’m on your mind that much huh??? I mean I guess I see why. But Wave the flag on these lames!! Please make being player cool again cause the lame machine is at an all-time high,” James wrote. “Enjoy your light but just know I’m the SUN. I stay on forever!”
During the championship parade, Malone was introduced as the “Lakers’ daddy,” further fueling the potential for a new rivalry between the two teams.
Despite the Nuggets being a strong team, the Lakers may be able to make some tweaks and additions to get revenge on Malone in the next season.
It’s worth noting that no one ever believed LeBron was retiring, and he will definitely be playing in the NBA next season.
