LeBron may be experiencing a sense of being overshadowed in the current discourse.
Travis Kelce’s winning streak continues, and even NBA superstar LeBron James has taken note of the NFL player’s growing prominence, particularly in light of his association with singer Taylor Swift.
During Thursday Night Football’s clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos, 38-year-old James fielded questions about the 34-year-old Kelce while appearing on The Shop alongside co-hosts Maverick Carter and Paul Rivera.

Charissa Thompson, the broadcaster, playfully inquired, “LeBron, I never thought I’d see the day when you aren’t the most famous athlete from Northeast Ohio. How does it feel?”
Amid laughter, the Lakers star responded, “Well, you know, sometimes you have to pass the torch to the next one.”
James then offered praise for Kelce and acknowledged the immense influence of Taylor Swift’s fan base, known as Swifties. He commented, “Considering what Travis has going on right now, and with the Swifties, I think I’m going to hand over the crown to him at this moment. He’s earned it.”
Kelce hails from Cleveland Heights, a city approximately an hour’s drive away from LeBron James’ hometown of Akron, Ohio.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer, LeBron James, recently acknowledged Kelce, shortly after playfully teasing the Chiefs’ star and his brother, Jason Kelce, about wanting an invitation to be a guest on their popular podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.
In a jesting tone, the basketball icon asked, “Is it because you guys are the true Kings of Northeast Ohio, and I just pretend to be? Tell me the truth,” accompanied by a series of emojis. He went on to commend them, saying, “Seriously, you guys are AWESOME!!”
The “New Heights” account promptly responded to James’ message in a quoted tweet, extending an “open invitation anytime” for the four-time NBA champion to join their podcast.
It’s evident that LeBron is quite eager to secure an invitation to their show.
