What will the Angels do with Shohei Ohtani?
Sources have informed MLB Network’s Jon Morosi that the Los Angeles Angels are still uncertain about whether they will trade Shohei Ohtani prior to the August 1 deadline.
Sources: The Angels are not close to a decision on whether to trade Shohei Ohtani. They’re likely to wait until the final 24-48 hours before the Aug. 1 deadline. Teams continue to contact the Angels and express interest in Ohtani, because why wouldn’t they? @MLBNetwork @MLB

Several teams have expressed interest in acquiring Ohtani, but the Angels are expected to make a decision on his future within 24 to 48 hours of the deadline.
However, if the Angels do choose to move Ohtani, they will not trade him to their in-state rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani is currently a highly sought-after trade target by teams across the league.
The impending free agent is having another MVP-caliber season, leading the majors with 35 home runs and maintaining a slash line of .306/.397/.678 with 76 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.
As a pitcher, the 29-year-old right-hander has also been impressive, boasting a 3.50 ERA and 11.9 strikeouts per nine innings across 105 1/3 innings. Currently, the Angels have a record of 49-48 after sweeping the struggling New York Yankees.
They find themselves nine games behind the Texas Rangers for the top spot in the American League West and 4.5 games behind the last wild-card spot.
