Caitlin Clark’s electrifying style of play has captured the attention of fans, particularly her remarkable range from beyond the arc. However, not everyone seems to share the same enthusiasm.
During an appearance on ESPN’s alternative broadcast of the Final Four, Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum took a dig at Clark’s playing style, suggesting that she doesn’t take deep 3-pointers because of the presence of A’ja Wilson in the paint.
“You know why I don’t shoot logo threes? Because A’ja Wilson’s on the block,” Plum remarked.

This comment from Plum disappointed some fans, who felt she could have been more respectful of Clark’s talents.
Adding to the critique, WNBA legend Diana Taurasi also chimed in, insinuating that Geno Auriemma, the coach at UConn, wouldn’t allow Clark to play her style of basketball.
“Heck no, like he didn’t even let us dribble,” Taurasi remarked when asked about UConn’s potential tolerance for Clark’s deep 3-pointers.
Unfortunately, Clark’s rising popularity has invited criticism, with some athletes seemingly eager to tear her down. However, Clark remains unfazed by the outside noise, maintaining her focus on winning a national title.
