This offseason has been particularly memorable for Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson.
Following her second WNBA championship win in 2023, Wilson launched her signature shoe line with Nike and received high praise from none other than future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, who penned a glowing testimonial for her in Time magazine.
The culmination of these accolades occurred on Saturday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C., where Wilson played college basketball for the South Carolina Gamecocks and earned All-America honors four times.
Returning to her alma mater, Wilson and the Aces faced off in an exhibition game against the Puerto Rican national team.
The game was a triumphant homecoming for Wilson, who was visibly moved by a standing ovation from the local fans following the match.
“Thank you! Thank you guys! Thank you guys!” Wilson exclaimed, overwhelmed by the support as she addressed the crowd.
